The Waterfront Station was transformed in 1977 to operate Trains and the Sky Trains that connect the Vancouver Suburbs and the Airport.

The SeaBus is a passenger-only ferry service that also departs the Station, connecting the Cities of Vancouver and North Vancouver. You can buy a Translink Day Pass for about $10.00. The Pass covers all day use of the SeaBus as well as City Buses and the SkyTrain.

North Vancouver Harbour has many good shopping areas to visit. Other attractions are the Capilano River Regional Park with Capilano Suspension Bridge

Canada Place holds the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Pan Pacific Hotel, & Vancouver's World Trade Centre. It is also the main Cruise Ship terminal for the area, where most of Cruises to Alaska depart.

Gastown Steam Clock image

Gastown was classed as an historic site in 2009, due to its architecture. It is named after (Gassy) Jack Deighton, a Geordie Steamboat Captain, who opened the first saloon in the area in 1867.

Gastown's most famous attraction is its Steam-Powered Clock. The Clock was built to cover a steam grate, part of Vancouver's Steam-Heating System. It uses the Escaping Steam, and prevents Street People from sleeping there in cold weather.
