Emeli Sande is a UK singer songwriter, born 10th March 1987, in Sunderland /Northeast England.

Emeli became famous in 2011 with the release of her first solo single, Heaven, aged 24.

Her first album, Our Version of Events, was released in 2012, with the top tracks being Heaven, Read All About It, My Kind of Love, and Clown.

Her second album, Long Live The Angels, was released in 2016, with the top tracks - Hurts, Breathing Underwater, and Highs & Lows.

Her third album, Real Life, was released in 2019, with the top tracks - Sparrow, Free as a Bird, Human, Honest, Survivor, and Real Life.

Emeli and her family moved to Alford in Aberdeenshire / Scotland, when she was 4. She wrote her first song for the school talent show, aged 11. She also studied medicine at the University of Glasgow for 5 years, gaining a degree in neuroscience.

Emeli began her career in music by writing songs for some big names in music. She wrote the song, Diamond Rings, for the English rapper, Chipmunk, in 2009, and provided vocals for the song, reaching 6 in the UK charts, her first singing success in the charts, aged 22.
