Amy MacDonald is a UK singer songwriter born
25th August 1987 in Bishopbriggs / Glasgow.
Her first album, This Is the Life, was
released in 2007, aged 20, with the single,
This Is the Life, making number one in six
countries. The other top tracks on the album
are Mr Rock & Roll, Run, and Youth
Of Today.

Her second album, A Curious Thing, was released in
2010, with the top tracks Don't Tell Me That It's
Over, Your Time Will Come, Spark, Love Love, and Give
It All Up.
Amy's third album, Life in a Beautiful Light, was
released in 2012, with the top tracks Slow It Down,
Pride, Life In A Beautiful Light, and The Green And
The Blue.
Amy's fourth album, Under Stars, was released in
2017, with the top tracks Under Stars, Dream On, and
Never Too Late.
Her fifth album, The Human Demands, was released
in 2020, with the top track, The Hudson.
Amy was inspired to start her music career after
listening to the Glasgow band, Travis, at the T in
the Park Festival in 2000, when she was 13. She began
playing in pubs and clubs around Glasgow from the age
of 15, such as the Brunswick Cellars on Sauchiehall
Street.
She got her breakthrough into the big time by
sending a demo CD to Pete Wilkinson of New Musical
Express, NME. Wilkinson worked with her and helped
secure a deal with Vertigo Records in 2007, when she
was 20.
Her favourite other artist is Bruce Springsteen,
with her covering some of his songs, that can be
heard on YouTube, such as Dancing in the Dark and
Born to Run.
